Melissa M. Root, Ph.D., is owner of Root Success Solutions LLC, a faculty member, and a certified school psychologist. She has given more than 50 regional, national and international presentations and has numerous publications in the field of educational psychology, including several on video self-modeling. Dr. Root’s interests include research-based interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder, behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, and selective mutism; self-determination; and mind-body research. She is also a reviewer for prominent journals in the field. Dr. Root is the inaugural director of Connecticut’s premier schooner race and serves as a commissioner of New London’s Port Authority. She began using video self-modeling when VHS tapes and expensive editing equipment were required.
